Alan Coster Educational Endowment Trust



The Alan Coster Educational Endowment Trust aims to promote and encourage education and vocational training for persons with Haemophilia or bleeding disorders in New Zealand.

The Trustees will consider applications on the 31st March, 31st July and the 30th November each year. In order to meet the deadline, the applications will need to be with your Outreach Worker by the 15th of the month in which they are to be considered.

It should be noted that the amount approved for each application would depend on the finance available in the Trust account. Please note that the Trustees have informed HFNZ that they will no longer be considering applications for computers at this time. Please contact HFNZ or your Outreach Worker if you have any questions regarding this.

* Conditions may include providing receipts of expenditure or progress report on the funded activity, or funding being distributed directly to the supplier of the goods or services.

To quality for a grant applicants will:

  • Have haemophilia or a related bleeding disorder and be a member or parents/caregivers be members of the HFNZ.
  • Show a commitment to participation in education and/or vocational training and to achieve personal goals.
  • Have the support of two relevant referees (one of which must support the actual application.  The other can be a character reference).
  • Provide financial information of the costs of the project and related on going expenses.
  • If under the age of 18, have the support of parents or care givers.
  • Provide a report on the use of the grant within one year of receiving it.
  • Agree to accept a grant or assistance subject to terms and conditions* as determined by the trustees.
