What is National Family Camp?

The National Family Educational Camp is an educational weekend for those families who have a child with a bleeding disorder aged between 0 to 13 years – with a fair bit of fun and relaxation mixed in. Catering to the whole family, this weekend is often considered the most important and informative HNZ event that parents attend.

This is a great opportunity for you to meet other parents raising children with a bleeding disorder, and for your children to interact with others who understand the issues they live with.

The programme is shaping up. There will be educational sessions for adults, two concurrent Kids Clubs (4-7 years and 8-13 years) and a well-supervised crèche programme running at the same time. There will also be plenty of opportunities for FUN family times and off-site visits (COVID dependant).

Education sessions, the main focus, may include bleeding disorders, physiotherapy, nutrition, opportunities to learn self-infusion, raising children with bleeding disorders and siblings, etc. Please let us know any specific topics you would like to hear about; we will attempt to address these.

The Kids Clubs will offer lots of fun and activities as well as some special education time just for children with bleeding disorders and their siblings.

Camp Fee

There is no fee to attend this event, no matter where you live. However, if you feel like donating to support HNZ programmes, you can do that here: haemophilia.donatenow.co.nz

We look forward to seeing your whānau at the National Family Camp in April 2023.
